Sussex" Speaker: Frances Farrer-Brown. Rudyard Kipling was born in December in 1865 but lived for many years at Bateman's in Sussex until his death in 1936. His long life, his popularity as the "soldiers' poet", and the huge success of his Indian writings will form part of Frances' talk, but the backbone of her talk, "illustrated" by readings from his work, will be his life in England and particularly Sussex. |

Shoreham Airport" John Rowntree from the Shoreham Airport Historical Association. Shoreham Airport is the oldest licensed airport in the country with all that implies for the history of flying.
